My family and I just visited Steele and Clover for the first time. The food was really good (except for the packaged honey mustard and tartar sauce), but the service was not. We ordered gravy for our fries, which our waitress forgot but acknowledged when she brought our food. Assuming she would bring it shortly, we didn't eat the fries. Our waitress disappeared, not to be seen again. At this point, there were two ladies behind the bar wrapping silverware with napkins. One of them came over and, without a word, threw our bill and three little candy canes onto the table. The gravy was the first item on the bill. We went to the bar to let them know we did not get gravy, they looked at one another, shrugged their shoulders and one of them very rudely said that if we had two they could charge us for another one. It was explained again that we did not get the gravy ordered and did not wish to pay for it. We were told to take it to the bar part of the restaurant, there was nothing they could do about it. So off we went to try to pay a $76 bill. Finally our original waitress appeared, we asked her to take off the item not received, (which she did not even acknowledge) to take our money. It's a shame that poor service can take away from good food and good times. Such was our first and likely last experience at Steele and Clover.

This was my 1st time at Steele and Clover. I had the chicken wingsbto start. They were delicious! Medium, saucy with a bit of a kick. My entrée was their fish and chips: The best I've had in years! The batter was thin and crisp, the haddock cooked perfectly, firm and flavourful. My meal was followed by the Bailey's Irish Cream Cheesecake which was absolutely scrumptious! Light and creamy with a oreo crust that was to die for! The restaurant is clean and comfortable with beautiful lighting, large screens for sports entertainment and a perfectly chosen radio playlist. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. A great little escape from the old Port Colborne fare and we'll worth the trip to Port if you're from out of town. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Steele and Clover Public House and can't wait to return!
